Overview

Witness large herds of red elephants while at Satao Camp in Tsavo East. Enjoy the spectacular scenery and rolling volcanic landscape whilst at Severin Safari Camp in Tsavo West, Satao Elerai Camp with its awesome view of Mt Kilimanjaro, overlooking Amboseli National Park and, during your stay at the luxurious and eco-friendly Karen Blixen Camp , experience the world famous Masai Mara with its amazing wildlife and seasonal migration.

During the flights, your guide will give you information about the wildlife and the scenic highlights in the parks via headphones. Each seat has its own large window. Observe the passing elephant herds, the hippos close to the rivers and the extensive Kenyan savannah from a very close distance. Our exclusive journeys through Kenya will create unforgettable memories to last a lifetime.

Day 1 :

NAIROBI- TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK

This morning you will be collected from your hotel in Mombasa and transferred to Mombasa Airport for your flight to Tsavo East – famous for its herds of red elephants. After lunch at Satao Camp, enjoy an afternoon game drive (approximately 30 minutes flying time). (BLD)
Accommodation: 1 night Satao Camp .

Day 2 :

TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK

Today enjoy a morning game drive, and after breakfast fly to Tsavo West National Park, arriving in time for lunch at Severin Safari Camp. You will be taken on an afternoon game drive before returning to the lodge(approximately 30 minutes flying time). (BLD)
Accommodation: 2 nights Severin Safari Camp .

Day 3 :

TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK

Morning and afternoon game viewing. (BLD)

Day 4 :

AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Enjoy a morning game drive in the area before breakfast and a flight to Amboseli National Park. On arrival you will be met and transferred to the camp. This afternoon you will visit the Masai Community before your evening bush sundowner and night game drive (approximately 0.5hour flying time). (BLD)
Accommodation: 2 nights Satao Elerai Camp .

Day 5 :

AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Today enjoy a full day of game viewing in the Amboseli National Park. (BLD)

Day 6 :

MASAI MARA NORTH CONSERVANCY

This morning after a morning game drive and breakfast, fly to the Masai Mara North Conservancy adjoining Africa’s world famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. On arrival, be met by your safari bush guide and transferred to camp. After lunch, experience your first game drive (approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes flying time).(BLD)

Day 7 :

MASAI MARA NORTH CONSERVANCY

Awake beneath a bright Kenyan sky, and enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. (BLD)

END OF OUT OF AFRICA SCENIC AIR SAFARI TOUR

This morning after breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Nairobi where your tour ends (approximately 45 minutes flying time). (B)

How fit do I need to be to do this trek?

Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will too, you can.

How long do we walk every day when doing Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.

What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?

The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay a certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, a hot water facility could be free at a lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on the way to Annapurna Base Camp?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

What about internet access?

Yes. The Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. The Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.

Is it necessary to hire Guides/trekking agency for Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

Not really. It depends on you. If you want, ABC trekking can be done independently. You could hire a guide and a porter by yourself instead of going through an agency or not hire a guide at all. Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during the offseason.

It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.

How much do guides and porters cost?

For the Annapurna region, pay for guides range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day.
